Planting medium: Seed raising mix (preferably organic).
Optimum germination temperature: 20-25°C
- Prepare small pots or seed tray with a seed raising mix and moisten. Sow seeds on the surface and cover lightly. Create a mini glasshouse. Leave pot/s in a position where they get some early morning sun.
- Lightly water but don’t flood as they can be prone to rot. Seeds should germinate after 2-3 weeks.
- Transplant seedlings a week after sprouting. Separate seedlings and leave them where they will receive more sun. They can either be transplanted into the ground or kept in a pot. If indoors, be sure they are near a windowsill where they can get plenty of light.
- Once established, will some frost and not require much watering. Don’t overwater. The Iceplants life cycle can be completed within 3-6 months.
